My Top 10 Christmas Songs

Posted by Megan M on

Nothing gets me in the festive spirit like a good Christmas song, so just for you, here's a countdown of my top 10 songs to get in the Christmas mood

1. Santa Claus is coming to town - The Jackson 5

This is what it's all about!  Catchy song about the big man himself!

2. I believe in Father Christmas - Gregg Lake

This was always my favourite at school from my school choir days - I think it made me feel grown up to sing a song about Santa not being real?

3. Stop the Cavalry - Jona Lewie

No idea why, cause it's actually quite a sad song, but this one always makes me think its Christmas! And yes, I'm sitting at my desk marching right now, I know you are too!

4. Last Christmas - Wham!

A classic. Everyone has someone this song makes them think of.

5. Mistletoe & Wine - Cliff Richard

I may get sacked for this one cause I know the boss hates it, but this song was playing during my first ever school Christmas Dinner.  I must have only been about 5, but I can still remember sitting looking at the big tree and eating with my friends in those silly cracker hats!

6. Once in Royal David's City

Everyone has a favourite Christmas carol and this is mine.  The solo on the first verse always sends shivers down my spine.

7. Fairytale of New York - The Pogues

This one is for my boo, I know he'd never forgive me if he's favourite didn't make the list!  Besides, there's nothing like a punch up at Christmas!

8. A Spaceman Came Travelling - Chris De Burgh

I just love how random it is!

9. When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney  - Billy Cotton & His Band

This one is just pure silly, but I promise you'll have it stuck in your head for the next week :-)

10. Winter Wonderland - Dean Martin

A classic but it always makes me smile!

So, what about you?  What's your favourite Christmas Song?
