We're over half way through the party season and I've officially run out of dresses!
Every occasion needs a different dress, and the cold weather and short notice of events is taking it toll!
This blog takes a look at some of the occasions you are likely to face and some options to solve the inevitable crisis they cause.
The smart dress
Winter weddings are tough to dress for. Needing something smart but pretty and timeless enough not to ruin the happy couples wedding pics sends us into a spin even in the summer, but a winter wedding adds the further complication of needing something warm enough to stand outside the church for however long those photos last but suitable to dance the night away makes my head hurt.
This year my go to outfit has been this grey and pink floral dress. The slightly heavier jacquard fabric has kept me warm enough with only a light jacket over it and it looks rear with or without tights so my legs don't have to turn blue!
The little black dress
A wardrobe staple, the little black dress is the item that will save your Saturday night stress. I like to keep a couple of options handy for last minute invitations or outfit malfunctions.
Now not all black dresses are created equal. This body con snappy dress is a simple but elegant piece which can be dressed for almost any party. Changing the shoes bag and jewellery gives a whole new look each time and an instantly glamorous outfit
This plunge front skater dress is more suited to a night clubbing than a formal dinner with your nan, but it's comfort level, simple shape and plunge neckline make it a great emergency outfit.
The work to bar dress
The after work Christmas party is another seasonal minefield. Unless your work do is black tie, you don't want to look like you've made too much effort, but still want to look a bit more dressy than usual.
This seasons metallic and velvet trends make this a little easier this year. A soft sparkle jumper with smart jeans is suitable for both the office and the bar and this sequin jumper will make you stand out without destroying the office dress code.
If you want to take it up another gear this black lace and velvet dress is perfect for the bar with heels and for the office with flats or boots.
Hope you all have a lovely Party Season!
